Spearfishing in the Jumentos and Ragged Islands

map of jumentos and ragged island

I recently had a spearfishing trip down to the Jumento Cays and Ragged Islands. For those of you who are not familiar with this area there is a reason, it is one of the most remote areas in the Bahamas. A chain of islands that begins near the southern tip of Long Island and extends south to Ragged Island which lies less than 70 miles from Cuba.

Some Customer Testimonials

A few customer testimonials and reviews

"Slip tip worked like magic! Took long shot at largest fish of trip (not in picture) and tip barely entered shoulder of fish. Slip tip went sideways and locked in! Worked perfectly. Thought band would break given how hard fish pulled yet tip held. Love the spear!!!! No more chasing down fish."

Panama Spearfishing at Hannibal bank

There are a lot of spearfishing videos out there on the web, but the video work of Perrin at Last Breath Film is truly impressive work.

Hannibal "Spearfishing Panama" from Perrin James on Vimeo.

We outfitted Perrin with some Headhunter Spearfishing gear before he headed down to Panama for his latest shoot. He didn't get to use the Predator pole spear down there like he had hoped, but he did get some amazing tuna footage. That footage, combined with his unique ability to tell a story with his editing, can be seen in the above video. Very well done. Makes me want to get back down to Panama right now!
